Problem with HelloWorld Gadget

Hi,
I am playing around with the Example HelloWorld Open Social Gaget provided by Cisco here:
http://developer.cisco.com/webexsocial/gadgets/hello-webex-social.xml
It works great using that URL, but I switch to https://developer.cisco.com/webexsocial/gadgets/hello-webex-social.xml I get an error:

Error rendering https://developer.cisco.com/webexsocial/gadgets/hello-webex-social.xml with moduleId 1
Due to the following errors: 
1) javax.net.ssl.SSLPeerUnverifiedException: peer not authenticate

 
Is there a reason it won't accept the https:// version?  Both URLs provide the same xml and it looks like a good cert on the developer.cisco.com site.
