I am facing a problem with the Record element of CVP studio , Iirespective of Max Record time entry the recording stops after "30" and continues with the call , I have given max record time as "180"

i tried increasing the max record time as "600" seconds but recording is happening only for 30 seconds and continue with the call

Change your VoiceXML Gateway configuration:
Allot more memory for recording within each phone call : ivr record
memory session <kb>
You can also allot more system memory: ivr record memory system <kb>

Hi janine graves,

Thanks for you prompt response , I have increased the size in Cisco Vocie gateway as well but still the problem persists

below is the error message we get in VXML gateway debug log

Can you post the incoming and outgoing dial-peers that your call is traversing?

Hi,

This means that something disconnected the call so survivability kicked in on the GW. You can look in your Call Server logs for the CallID = FB42DF70.0FD611DF.8092001E.BEE220E0 to further troubleshoot the issue. This CallID should also be in the VXML Server logs if the error is occurring at that point in the call.

Regards,

-Chris

Subject: RE: Record Element duration - unable to exceed 30 seconds
Replied by: Navjeet Sarai on 04-09-2010 12:32:53 PM
Hi Experts,

I have seen a lot of posts about this issue where the caller is unable to record for more than 30 seconds. In most of the posts, it is suggested to configure the gateway. I made the following changes and still the recording stops at 30 seconds:

ivr record memory system 10000
ivr record memory session 128000
http client response timeout 60

I checked the gateway logs and survivability is not kicking in either. Here is an extract:

Regards,

-Chris

Subject: RE: Problem with Max Record Time parameter in Record element
Replied by: Gerard O'Rourke on 07-10-2010 10:31:21 AM
I also had this issue, but ithe issue was corrected once I changed the VXML gateway config.

VXML gateway config:
ivr record memory session 960

This allows just over a max of 2 mins for a call (~8bytes per second x 120s = 960 kbytes)
