I tested the Extron DVI 201 some time ago.
*********************
Power in this test is supplied to the HDMI 201 pair at the transmitter end. I recommend this, because I observed that the receiver supplies voltage on the HDMI connector when it is powered locally. (Only one power supply is required to power both the Rx and Tx devices – power is supplied to the other device over the twisted pair.) Using the power supply at the receiver end could potentially cause problems because of that voltage being present on the HDMI cable.
A reboot of the Extron pair is sometimes required when changing dipswitches/resolutions on the camera. However, the Extron pair appears stable when the codec is upgraded, rebooted, etc. The camera goes to sleep as it should and wakes up properly.

Are you powering the DVI 201 pair at the camera end? If so, the devices should work fine when the codec reboots, at least in my experience. But if you are hard-booting the codec - by turning the power switch off - that may be a different case. In general, we don't recommending powering off the codecs.
