Hi All,

Hope somebody can help me.

This customer wants, on their IP Phone's displays, to have a visual alert when the NICE recording system is active on a phone call.

The user wants to record the call, but need a visual confirmation from the IP Phone, can this be done?

Thank you very much.

Consider CUCM 7.x and CUCM 8.x

Best Regards

Ramon Romero

A recording app could send an XML message to the phone's display to indicate recording has started/in-progress.  It would not be possible for such an app to insert any kind of indication into the normal 'call plane' UI, however.

I think this would be an option for the recording app vendor to explore..?

one addition - NICE is likely already monitoring the device via CTI. It is possible to send DeviceToUserData message via CTI control of device to update the phone display. This is the same XML that would be sent directly to phone; just passed via CTI to CCM rather than doing http/XML directly to the phone. Because this goes through the call control channel it is slightly more reliable. And NICE should already have the device open via CTI so sending the message via CTI is already "in the workflow".
