Due to some confusion about option keys the BU have made a quick summarization of the different option keys and resolutions:

Note: All keys (release- product- and option-keys) only take effect after a reboot.

You will not be able to add option keys without a valid release key installed, so a valid procedure could be: Add a release key, reboot, add product key and option keys and reboot again.

An option key tells the system if a specific functionality is valid for this system or not. You may have several optionkeys in your system

  • PremiumResolution = 1R000
  • Multisite = 1M003 (Invalid for C20, EX60, MX200 and MX300 since they have no multisite capability)
  • HighDefinition = 1R001 (Only valid for C20 and SX20)
  • DualDisplay = 1D000 (Only valid for C20, C40 and EX90) - Enables the second display
  • RootAccess = 1X??? -- TBD (Root will be closed down on released code in the future. An option key is needed for root access. Root access will be disabled again after next boot)
  • Encryption = 1C000 -- TBD (In the future, the same software package will be used for non crypto and crypto. An option key will be required to enable encryption)
  • NaturalPresenter = 1N000 - Not valid for EX90, EX60, MX200 and MX300 (natively included). This key is required to send or receive presentation

This information can be obtained in the Administrator guide specification pages for each product series (e.g page 117 in TC6.2 Administrator guide for EX90)

Resolutions that require Premium Resolution option key :

  • 1920 × 1080@60 fps (1080p60)*
  • 1920 × 1080@30 fps (1080p30)
  • 1440 × 900@30 fps (WXGA+)
  • 1472 × 1080@30 fps (SXGA+)
  • 1680 × 1050@30 fps (WSXGA+)
  • 1600 × 1200@30 fps (UXGA)
  • 512 × 288@60 fps (w288p60)
  • 768 × 448@60 fps (w448p60)
  • 1024 × 576@60 fps (w576p60)
  • 1280 × 720@60 fps (720p60)
  • 1080p60 is only supported by SX20, MX300-G2, C60 and C90

The following resolutions requires the HD option key when using SX20 and C20. For other systems, an option key is not needed for these resolutions):

  • 1024 x 768@30 fps (XGA)
  • 1280 x 1024@30 fps (SXGA)
  • 1280 x 720@30 fps (720p30)
  • 1280 x 768@30 fps (WXGA)

The following resolutions are always available:

  • 176 x 144@30 fps (QCIF)
  • 352 x 288@30 fps (CIF)
  • 512 x 288@30 fps (w288p)
  • 576 x 448@30 fps (448p)
  • 768 x 448@30 fps (w448p)
  • 704 x 576@30 fps (4CIF)
  • 640 x 480@30 fps (VGA)
  • 800 x 600@30 fps (SVGA)
  • 1024 x 576@30 fps (w576p)

The options file can be manually edited to remove or add keys as well (remember to reboot!)

Please note that the resolutions above are only applicable for calls and not for the resolution displayed on local monitor.

Does having the PR key automatically include the HD key in an SX20 or C20?

Thanks,

Justin

And to add to that, from TC7.3.3 there is also a 1S000 option key type for the "Remote Monitoring", allowing the ability to view the websnapshots of the cameras from the web interface of the endpoint.  See websnapshots-broken-even-further-design for a thread which discusses this functionality.

Any body help ... I have a new SX20 that came with TC7.3.1 and I upgraded it to TC7.3.3 and then added the Release key from the API and it's working fine ... Problem is the Remote monitoring option key provided 1S000-1-  doesn't work.

I restarted the system twice and entered the option key via the browser and also via the API and it still saying invalid.  I have a TAC in on it asked for the option key to be regenerated but they haven't provided it.

Any ideas ??

Hi Chet,

You've posted your question in the Document Library - I'd suggest if you're having an issue that you post as a new discussion in the discussions section of the forum.

But, in any case, you can't do much until the TAC supplies you with the proper key - you'll have to follow this up with them.

Edit: If they've allocated it correctly for your SX20, you should also be able to get it via the Cisco Licensing Portal the same way you would normally get other options keys (Get Other Licenses > TelePresence License to Resend > Serial Number > Search, then look through the list for the 1S000 key.

Were you ever able to get an answer to this? I'm curious as well.

Marius,

Are the resolutions for HD included in the premium option key for the SX and C20?

Hi Duglas.

Yes. PR and DD option since May-2014 includes in SX20.

In data-sheet you can not see this options separate.

heba00001, you've posted the same thing multiple times in response to this document - I'd suggest you remove these posts from the Document Library section of the forums and refer to your discussion in the normal section of the TelePresence forums at https://supportforums.cisco.com/discussion/12892841/telepresence-mx700

I believe multi-site is an option you have to pay for. Once you do then you would add it to the MX700
