Tool Description

This tools helps you to analyze performance data from systems like Cisco Unified Communications Manager, Cisco Unified Presence Server, Cisco Unified Contact Center Express and others which run on the unified communications operating system.

It presents the data in a graphical view allowing you to validate the health of the system and identity potential process, memory or disk issues.

Customer Use Cases

Analyzing performance data provided by the Cisco RIS Data Collector performance service can be time consuming due to the high volume of data presented in these files.

With this tool you will be able to identify potential issues quicker without having to worry about which data-set to select, from which range etc …

It helps you to identify:
- Which process is pegging my CPU?
- Do I have a memory leak?
- Is my performance issue caused by disk IO?

Technology

Cisco Unified Communications Manager
Cisco Unified Presence Server
Cisco Unified Contact Center Express
Any product running on the Unified Communications Operating System which has the RISDC service

Guidelines

How to use this tool:

  1. Select your archived RISDC Perform Log files.
Supported archives are : zip, gzip, tar, 7z, rar, bzip2, xz, jar
  2. Change when required the default values for :
    - CPU threshold = show processes with CPU usage above configured threshold (%)
    - VmSize threshold = show process with VmSize above configured threshold (total size)
  3. Click Analyze
  4. Select the node and graph you want to view
The current supported graphs are :
    -‘CPU – processes over 30% + Total’

Shows the CPU usage for the processes which CPU usage (%) has, at least one time, been higher then the configured threshold within the given data-set. It also shows the total system CPU usage
    -'
VMSize – processes over 1000 MB’

Shows the total VMSize for the processes which total VmSize has, at least one time, been higher then the configured threshold within the given data-set.
    -'
    Virual Memory Total'

Shows the total Virtual Memory usage on the system for the given date-set
    -'IOwait Total'
    Shows the total IOWait time
