Core Issue

When the user tries to delete the Cisco CallManager server from the CallManager cluster 3.1(4b), they receive this error message: This server cannot be deleted. 1 devices are using it.

In spite of removing the Cisco CallManager groups from the CallManagers list, as well as all the services and service parameters associated with the server, the error message cannot be deleted.

Resolution

To delete the Cisco CallManager server from the cluster, perform these steps:

  1. Delete these services:
    • All Cisco CallManager services related to the server
    • All software conference bridges
    • All software Media Termination Points (MTPs)
    • All Music On Hold (MOH) services
    • All call park numbers associated with the server
    • Software conference bridge associated with the Cisco CallManager server
    • Software MTP associated with the Cisco CallManager server
    • MOH server associated with the Cisco CallManager server
  2. Go to Service Parameters and select the Cisco CallManager server to be deleted.
  3. Delete these services:
    • Computer Telephony Integration (CTI) manager service
    • Cisco Telephony Call Dispatcher (TCD) service
    • Extension mobility service
    • TFTP service
    • IP Voice Media Streaming Application
    • MOH translation service
    • Reduced Instruction Set Computing (RISC) data collector
  4. Go to System > CallManager Group and remove the Cisco CallManager server from the group.
  5. Go to System > CallManager and delete the Cisco CallManager server.
  6. Go to System > Server and delete the Cisco CallManager server.

Once all references to the server are deleted, reset the device pools. This makes sure that no devices are registered to the server that is supposed to be deleted. Before proceeding, ensure that all the Structured Query Language (SQL) processes on the publisher are complete.
