I thought that WebEx Social v2.5 was able to publish via SSL.  Is this correct?  I was reading the guides and it doesn't say specifically, but also continues to mention that secure connections are available using ACE.  I'd like to accomplish two things.  One, HTTPS connectivity to protect passwords, and Two, access over SSL without a VPN requirement.

Is SSL connectivity available now?  If not, what to I need to do to all connectivity over SSL?

Thanks
Rod

SSL is available through ACE which is an SSL/Load balancing appliance. WebEx Social will work with other SSl/load balancing appliances but does not terminate locally to the application server or WebEx Social Node.

Yes it is available today but when we talk about VPN solution or DMZ scenario the design is different. WebEx Social is still positioned as an Intranet solution and any DMZ solution is a standalone WebEx Social instance in the DMZ tied to a dedicated AD structure. We do not support a VPNless internal solution to WebEx Social. We support a dedicated DMZ solution and a separate internal solution today.

Thanks Michael, That is what my understanding was so good.  Do you know if there are limitations to the DMZ solution over SSL?  Are there issues with widgets or applets?  Or graphics displayed over SSL?

Thanks
Rod

Widgets and applet functionality would be dependent on connectivity and overall SSL design but assuming all applications are reachable and you want to run them through the SSL offloading appliance you shouldn't have any issues. Real time communications, if any, deployed in the DMZ would need to be considered carefully and probably be done on a dedicated solution as well to be safe.

If you have some specific scenarios to review we can address them as they come up.
