Install problem with Cisco Agent Desktop and Desktop Administrator

After installing the CAD on the server and running the post install application, everything installs fine without any errors. When I go to start the Desktop Administrator it tells me the following error.

“Error reading data from Directory Services.

Please try again. If the problem persists, please refer to the log file for more information”

So I look at the log and this is what I am seeing.

12:13:39 05/12/2005 INFO FCSS0008 The program failed to connect to the ODBC client on the PC - -1

12:13:39 05/12/2005 MAJOR FCSS0008 Could not connect, first try

I looked at the ODBC connection and there is one there named

“CAD/CSD Generic DSN”

Does this need to be modified and if so how?

Check for the following:

user ID and password is a valid ICM database user for SQL authentication by using odbc connection from CAD server to logger database

- update the ID and password using the CAD Configuration Setup utility.

- check the Instance Name is the correct ICM logger database instance (case sensitive)

in the CAD Configuration Setup utility.

- check the SQL server Network utility on logger machine was setup properly for TCP/IP

with listening port 1433

- after doing the above and rebooting logger machine,do a manual sync
