ZTP - DHCP options not received - ? - guestshell destroyed

Hi,

A bit of a problem. I have a ZTP solution turning. However, it does happen that the DHCP options are not received or read?

I see that the device receives an IP, I see the DHCP binding at the router. Still, no options read. If I baseline the switch again, reboot it, then it does install (Sometimes...).

In the end, I do not understand. Is it something to do with the router? Is it a bad DHCP service?

This happens on the switch:

No startup-config, starting autoinstall/pnp/ztp...

Autoinstall will terminate if any input is detected on console

         --- System Configuration Dialog ---

Would you like to enter the initial configuration dialog? [yes/no]:
Autoinstall trying DHCPv6 on Vlan990

Acquired IPv4 address 10.242.67.11 on Interface Vlan990
Received following DHCPv4 options:

OK to enter CLI now...

pnp-discovery can be monitored without entering enable mode

Entering enable mode will stop pnp-discovery
Guestshell destroyed successfully

You see: DHCPv4 options empty

This is the config on the router:

ip dhcp pool ZTP
 network x.x.x.x 255.255.255.192
 default-router 10.242.67.1
 option 67 ascii http://10.15.255.52:80/9K/python_script.py
 lease infinite

Any thoughts ?

Solved this problem

The IOS only boots ztp with VLAN1.

If I adapt my native vlan on the trunk between router and switch, I can run the pnp process on my desired management VLAN.

I hope this helps others.

Hi @_|brt.drml|_ ,

It could be a bug with the version you're on. I saw a user have that error before and it was a version bug. You can check here:

Ok, Thank you for the reply. I'll have a look at it this week. Hope I can find the solution to this.

I also faced this situation with an ISR 1111-4P where the device was trying to process ZTP. The router was connected to a cisco switch where a dedicated vlan 100 for ZTP operations was configured. My router was connected to the switch using the internal ethernet switch and SVI vlan1. Few seconds after the ZTP process began, my router was losing its ZTP ip, i guess due to a vlan mismatch or something related. I finally connected one of the WAN interface gi0/0/0 to the switch and it worked perfectly.

Thanks and Regards,
