NVF and SDWAN Orchestration for Managed Service Providers - BRKRST-2557
At CiscoLive, June 2018, in Orlando, I had the privilege of giving a two hour presentation regarding Network Function Virtualization (NFV) Orchestration and Software Defined WAN (SD-WAN). The presentation gives an overview of the NSO platform, and then introduces the Core Function Packs (CFP). CFPs are pre-built packages that sit on top of NSO, and implement specific use-cases. The CFPs that I presented were:
- NFVO - An ETSI NFV MANO standards-compliant NFV orchestrator
- vBranch - Orchestration of Enterprise NFV - spinning up VNF service chains on the Cisco universal CPEs running the NFVIS operating system (e.g. ENCS 5xxx)
- SDWAN - Automation of Viptela controllers in private datacenters, of vEdge Cloud VNFs on NFVIS and OpenStack, and CLI templates and policies
The recording and presentation slides are now available on the CiscoLive site via the URL above.
