Abstract: Traditionally optical and IP network teams use different tools to manage their networks and operate in silos, but this is inefficient and time consuming for fault remediation and service provisioning. Multi-layer/multi-domain network visualization can cut down time to repair and time to market of new services by presenting to the network administrators and operators an integrated view that is easy to understand from Services to layer 1 to fiber plant and allow drill down and root cause identification. Finally the inventory of all layers should be available by API to integrate with operations specific workflows. The Cisco platform that enables all this for a multi-vendor network is Crosswork Hierarchical Controller HCO and this session walks through major use cases and benefits and introduces SHQL to query the physical and logical inventory to extend and integrate its functionality with any custom workflows.
