From MPLS to SRv6: Accelerate the Migration of L3VPNs with Crosswork Network Controller

Abstract: SRv6 brings significant advantages over SR-MPLS for network operators and verticals. Nevertheless, smooth network migration from legacy MPLS configurations towards SRv6 has to be carefully planned and executed to mitigate possible service impact. Cisco Crosswork Network Controller provides the necessary toolset to confidently run the migration in a controlled and automated way. This session will explore with great detail the necessary steps to successfully migrate transport and VPN services from SR-MPLS to SRv6, making use of CNC's (and Cisco Network Services Orchestrator's) built-in capabilities. We'll describe all the phases to migrate L3VPN services from a pure IPv4/SR-MPLS-enabled topology to a full SRv6-capable architecture, enabling a dual-stack transition phase in between. The migration process will be demonstrated in a lab environment, making exclusive use of API calls to prove it can be fully automated. CLI commands will be used only for the sake of verification.
