APIC CIMC upgrade via HUU using USB

Requirement

- USB Stick

- Correct HUU ISO

- Third Party App (Free) RUFUS

     Could be downloaded from https://rufus.akeo.ie

Procedures

Although the USB stick is formatted correctly, you will need to burn the ISO to the USB so that it is bootable.

By the use of RUFUS, you can format as well as burn the ISO to the USB.

Once you plug in your USB and open up RUFUS, you will see the window above.

Select the HUU ISO by clicking the disk button (red box):

Select File System as FAT32 (blue box)

Select Partition scheme and target system type as "MBR partition scheme for BIOS or UEFI" (green box)

and hit start.

Once you have your USB ready, plug it to the APIC USB port, and KVM into CIMC.

Without having to map this USB device, you can just restart the server by clicking Macro Ctrl+Alt+Del:

wait until you see the menu to select option like:

Once you see this, press F6 and it will lead you to boot menu.

From here, press enter once it prompts you BIOS password. After that, it will prompt you to select a boot order.

Select your USB drive and you will see the CIMC HUU install setup:

Great article. The pictures don't load for me for some reason, so I had a bit of trouble figuring out what my USB drive was called in the UCS boot menu, so pasting this here so myself and others can reference it later if needed.

On my C225-M6 (APIC-L4), my USB drive in the boot menu was labeled: UEFI: UNIGEN PHF16H0CM1-ETG PMAP, Partition 1

To find what my USB drive was called in the boot menu, I plugged my USB drive into the APIC and then rebooted, went into Setup (F2) > Advanced > USB Configuration , and scrolled down until I saw a device name (which would be my plugged-in USB). On my C225-M6 (APIC-L4) the USB name was under a section called "Mass Storage Devices" near the bottom of the page, and was set to "Auto".
