Introduction
Cisco's memory kits for UCS servers are separated into categories because of differing degrees of identical pairing required for each server model. Therefore, mix and match of memory from one particular model to another one might not be possible.
For example, taking DIMMs from a B440 to a B250 must not be done, as extended memory servers like the B250 are particularly sensitive to memory and have different requirements.
Resolution
The recommendation is to comply with the Memory requirements included in the Blade Server Installation and Service Note for each model.
