cannot see port-profiles in vcenter

Hi,

I am having difficulties to push the port-profile into vcetner- inventory-networking. The connection n1kv-vc seems to be just fine:

nexus1000v# sh svs connections

connection VC:
    ip address: 147.32.235.121
    protocol: vmware-vim https
    certificate: default
    datacenter name: Lab_Datacenter
    DVS uuid: 42 ad 2f 50 b7 dd 5b 0e-97 0d f5 59 9a f6 50 4f
    config status: Enabled
    operational status: Connected

The configuration of port-profile is as follows:

nexus1000v# sh port-profile name system-uplink
port-profile system-uplink
  description:
  status: enabled
  capability uplink: yes
  capability l3control: no
  system vlans: 10,12
  port-group:
  max-ports: -
  inherit:
  config attributes:
    switchport mode trunk
    switchport trunk allowed vlan 1,10-12
    no shutdown
  evaluated config attributes:
    switchport mode trunk
    switchport trunk allowed vlan 1,10-12
    no shutdown
  assigned interfaces:

However I can see only the predefined uplinks at vcenter inventory in the nexus folder. Does anybody know where the mistake is?

Thanks a lot

Helena

Got it, I have added:

nexus1000v(config-port-prof)# vmware port-group uplink

seems that the default name binding doesn't work

Helen

Helen,

Glad you worked it out.  The "vmware port-group" tells the VSM to create this Port Proflie in vCenter.   There is no default name binding around this function.

If you need anything feel free to post again!
