Nexus 6001 L3 not ready

Meatlayer

Hello.

There is N6K-C6001-64P and it does not raise ports as L3.

This happens on every port where there is a "no switchport" setting

Status is as follows:

sh int e1/1
Ethernet1/12 is down (L3 not ready)

The reason may be the lack of a license LAN_BASE_SERVICES_PKG (N6K-BAS1K9) or not? There are no errors in the log about the absence of a L3 license.

If port is as L2 (switchport) - link up.

Thank you for your answers.

Hello!

You are correct - the LAN_BASE_SERVICES_PKG license is needed in order for Layer 3/routed interfaces to come up/up as expected. Without the LAN_BASE_SERVICES_PKG license, the status of routed interfaces (including SVIs) will show "L3 not ready" until the license is installed.

I hope this helps - thank you!
