Hi Team,

We are facing issue in Nexus 9504 switch Module-28 SUP replacement.

After replace with RMA it's showing "Powered UP mode" not in standby mode.

We try reboot of module 28 multiple time. But show same mode "Powered UP mode".

Note:- 1. Active SUP-A & RMA SUP-A have different NX-OS

           2. We don't reboot complete chassis until now.

So, please provide best solution and why it's showing Powered UP mode ?12.PNG

These issues are typically difficult to diagnose -- Did you receive the RMA from the TAC? If so, I'd have them troubleshoot why the replacement SUP-A is not coming up and/or possibly get a second replacement if needed. Sometimes the replacements come with an older BIOS that is incompatible with the running HW/SW - Just FYI.

1. Have you tried reseating the Standby SUP a few times?
2. When consoled to the standby SUP, what do you see? Which prompt? Any logs?
3. What version NXOS is the N9K chassis running? `show version | i i image|bios`
4. Why was the Standby replaced? Was it also stuck in powered-up?

* The following may be helpful in troubleshooting *

show logging log | i i supervisor|sync|module.28
show system internal mts buffer details
show module internal exceptionlog module 28
show module internal event-history module 28 | last 100
show module internal activity module 28
show system internal sysmgr gsync-pending

Hi Andrea,

We received these logs 3 times in Nexus 9504 switch, mostly 15 days interval. After that Cisco TAC suggest for RMA.

Old Module-28 ( SUP-A) showing standby after these logs every time. But, when insert RMA SUP-A then it showing "Powered UP mode".

After that when remove RMA SUP and insert old SUP then it also in same mode "Powered UP mode".

Please provide better solution for resolve this.
