I read in another thread that Cisco and VMware have been working together on the support of vShield Zones with Nexus 1k. It stated that the plan is to provide the capability in Nexus 1K to classify traffic that needs vShield services in a more granular fashion and redirect it to vShield using the "VACL redirect" functionality, consistent with our physical switch implementations.
Is there are a timescale on this pipeline? We are currently deciding if we want to purchase the vShield product and support of the Nexus 1000v is critical in this decision.
Thanks.

The timeframe that we are targetting is 2H CY 2009. (later half of this year). Also, vShield Zones is part of the Enterprise Plus edition of vSphere and you don't have to "buy" it separately.

Minor correction: Enterprise Edition, not Enterprise Plus Edition.
