User ping with different subnet in VXLAN

Hi, VXLAN connection is like below, and vni/NVE/multicast and bridge-domain can work well

user-pc1 ------VTEP1 ------VTEP3-----VTEP2------user-pc2

Now pc1 and pc2 has the same subnet and can ping each other. If pc1 and pc2 has different subnet, what needs to be added in this topology? Thank you

You need to configure:

- gateways/SVIs for both vlans on the VTEP1 and VTEP2 (you can opt for anycast gateway)

- L3VNI

Take care,

HI @interfacedy ,

In ACI, all you need to do is

  1. make sure that the default gateway IPs of user-pc1 and user-pc2 are configured in ACI.
  2. make sure EITHER
    1. both user-pc1 and user-pc2 are in the same EPG, or
    2. there is a contract between user-pc1's EPG and user-pc2's EPG, or
    3. both user-pc1's EPG and user-pc2's EPG AND the VRF for both have the Preferred Group option enabled, or
    4. the VRF for both EPGs have the Enforce option disabled

Simply based on initial description, I think the post is wrong category. The "NVE" kinda suggests is NXOS based VXLAN. And "bridge domain" probably N7K?

@interfacedy Can you confirm if you refer to NXOS-based VXLAN or ACI?

Cheers,
