SQL access to CallManager DB from third-party app

Hello everyone--i'll apologize up front as i'm not a developer at all, so please forgive my ignorance if this is a simple thing to accomplish.  I've been asked if there's a way to allow a third-party app to query the CallManager (9.1.2-10000-28) database so that they can pull in phone information on a per-user basis for a support portal that our help desk will be using.  I've never been asked to do something like this before, and TAC referred me over to this group.

Is it a simple thing to do, or is it going to be a fairly complicated venture?  One other concern is being able to restrict the access to read-only...

Thanks in advance for any guidance you can provide.

SJ

Hi Scott,

The best way will be using AXL (Administrative XML).

You can check out the get start page on devNet

https://developer.cisco.com/site/collaboration/management/axl/overview/

And find the developer guide/sample code

https://developer.cisco.com/site/collaboration/management/axl/develop-and-test/documentation/previous-versions/

And AXL Cookbook to start with

https://developer.cisco.com/site/collaboration/management/axl/learn/axl-developer-cookbook/

Cisco do provide a partner based support (Ticketing support similar to TAC) for developer, you will find it helpful for your developers as well once you hit any specific question/bug.
