Did you know that the world's first computer programmer was a woman? That's right, Ada Lovelace, who was born in 1815, became the first programmer on Babbage's Analytical Engine, which was a mechanical computer. As our friends at the Computer History Museum point out, she was not only a programmer but also a visionary about what computers might someday do.

Some other amazing women in technology include Grace Hopper, who built the first compiler and co-invented COBOL. Also, Hedy Lemarr, who was well-known for her acting, was also an inventor who came up with the communications systems that were the basis for Wifi and Bluetooth! There are many other women who have made an impact in science and technology... please feel free to give a shout-out in a reply below!

Hats off to all of the women in technology out there!
