Hello All,
I wasn't able to find a Hardware category to post this in, so hopefully this is ok...
I have a question, could you help me please, Is a license necessary to expand the NIM modules on an ISR4400 router? Because I want to add more NIM modules to the router.
Thank you

You will nred performance license.
See Table 6
And that:
Specifications of Cisco 4000 Family Integrated Services Routers
Technical Specifications | Cisco 4461 | Cisco 4451 | Cisco 4431 | Cisco 4351 | Cisco 4331 | Cisco 4321 | Cisco 4221 |
Aggregate Throughput (Default) | 1.5Gbps | 1 Gbps | 500 Mbps | 200 Mbps | 100 Mbps | 50 Mbps | 35Mbps |
Aggregate Throughput (Performance License) | 3Gbps | 2 Gbps | 1 Gbps | 400 Mbps | 300 Mbps | 100 Mbps | 75 Mbps |
Aggregate CEF Only[5] Throughput (Boost License)
| Over 7Gbps | Over 4Gbps | Over 4Gbps | Over 2Gbps | Over 2Gbps | 1.5Gbps |

Hello @inteldarvid
No license is necessary to add NIM module on ISR4400.

its all depends on what NIM Card module you installing, if this is L2 module you do not need any License,
if any WAN Module (some may required performance License to more bandwidth).

Dear , in this case the Gigabit L3 modules to increase bandwidth. How can I find, if that type of performance licensing is necessary on the router? Thank you

You're so Welcome @inteldarvid

No worries, since some routers come with default throughput, if you need to go beyond you need performance License to break that barrier, most of the datasheet that information for you along with some modules.

you need to provide the module specification or refer the datasheet provided by other poster
