Hi,

our internal Domino SMTP Server shows many errors "400 SMTP Protocol Returned a Transient Error" after sending newsletter E-Mails to the ESA Gateway.

10 Mails are transported to the ironport and then i receive the error.

Hello,

It sounds like the ESA may be throttling the connection from the Domino server after 'X' amount of messages have been sent through. What you'll want to do is first make sure that the Domino server is hitting the proper RELAYLIST/RELAY Mail Flow Policy on the ESA, and then from there you can increase the throttling to allow more mail to be sent through at any given time from that device.
