Backup and restore of Cisco ESA

Dear experts,

Looking to find a way to manage backup and restore procedure for Cisco ESA virtual appliances. We currently have two in a cluster and as I understand it is not supported to use technology such as snap shot.

Is the only way to set up up two new appliances with all the network configuration, cluster them and then restore the configuration file or has someone found an easier way?

According to Cisco TAC it is possible to shut them down, and the clone if a restore is required, restore the clone and restore the configuration file.

Many thanks for any input.

Regards,

If they are virtual you are not changing the IP, you can shutdown and VM and Move the VM to new environment , that should work as expected.

but if you are building new and changing the IP, backup and restore is best option.
