Cisco Email Reporting Plug-in

Hi,

We are trying to install the plug-in to about 15K endpoints which range from 95% (Win 10) and the balance being Win 7 / 8.1

Our success rate so far has been 1/3 of the total endpoints

Issues we have deploying the plug-in via SCCM is the installations have been causing major

CPU usage  (90 - 100) percent on the endpoints.

I have tried to find any other anomaly but so far notice that it affects mostly Win 10 Build 1607 X64

Any suggestions on overcoming this. We require minimal intervention from users and only can use SCCM as a deployment.

Hello,

I've personally never come across any cases where the Cisco Email Reporting plug-in has been causing CPU spikes.

Can you clarify why you think the plug-in is at fault here? Logs? Screenshots?

Thanks!

-Dennis M.

Hi,

Well the reason being the group of endpoints at that point did not have any other installation or updates scheduled.

We have an extremely secure environment and no user can install or update their endpoints by themselves.  Everything goes thru SCCM.

During this particular moment, users complained of the outlook app taking time to open up and the endpoints not responding.

Our help desk, cross checked and notice the SPAM button installation causing a high CPU spike.

I am trying to get some screenshots and logs from helpdesk if possible.

If there was a CPU spike during install, it was most likely something related to the method of install and other variables specific to these machines and that day/time. If we're talking about post-install and the plug-in just churning constantly on the CPU, we would need to obtain the additional details to dig deeper.

Assuming compatible versions on all sides and the prerequisites are installed, plug-in issues are going to be local to the PC most of the time. As you've already mentioned, and what we hear frequently, it worked on many other machines just fine but for some reason these few aren't wanting to cooperate.

The unfortunate aspect is that troubleshooting plug-in concerns is normally no easy task. If you can, it may just be best to open up a TAC case and we can help take a closer look.

Thanks!
