How to configure SMTP authentication to relay

Hi,

I have configured IronPort as relay for external Partner ,now for enhance security we want to get authenticate with ironport before .

could you please help to know how to configure  SMTP authentication local and  through LDAP authentication.

1. Under System Administration/LDAP, make sure you have an LDAP config set up and working

2. In that LDAP profile, check the box to enable the SMTP Authentication Query

3. Set the query string to (sAMAccountName={u}) or whatever user query is appropriate for your LDAP.

4. Set the allowance query string to something that limits who can auth to the SMTP (eg a query for memberOf if you want to put them in group, etc)

5. Submit/commit

6. Go to Network/SMTP Authentication create a Authentication Profile, selecting the LDAP Query and other parameters as appropriate.

7. Submit/commit

8. Go to Network/Listeners and go to the relay, and set the SMTP Authentication profile there.

9. Submit/commit.
