Ironport c107

Hi All,

I am new in Ironport , I just purchased a c107 , there is no hardisk in the box , I have the following questions :

     1 - Can i use any sata disk , is there any limit of the disk size ?

     2- How do I install the software and create the raid from scratch ?

Hello Saleem,

I suppose you mean a C170? If the box came without harddrives, I am affraid you are out of luck, Cisco IronPort appliances are sold with a support contract only, and run software that is bound to the appliance's serial number and hard drives as well, so it's not possible to insert different drives and download/install AsyncOS to get that box running as a normal IronPort appliance. You still can use the hardware as a normal server, though.

There are 2 hard drives in a C170, in a RAID1. They just aren't where you can get to them.

It is shipped as an appliance, so if you have one fail, you call TAC and they'll replace the unit.
