Hi all,
Does the Ironport ESA add any overhead to a message that would inflate the size? For instance, if a message enters the processing queue at 15Mb, is it going to be (noticeably) larger by the time it hits our Exchange server?
Thanks,
Steve

Hi,
the appliance does add a few headers to the message e.g. X-IronPort-Anti-Spam, X-IronPort-Anti-Virus headers. If configured, disclaimers are being added too. Since they are all small in size, the size of the message will not noticably be larger. The appliance functions rather as a gateway passing through messages without much alternation.

Enrico
