IronPort - Preventing Auto-response Storms

Is there a way to prevent auto-reply storms from distribution list external members using the IronPort?

We recently had a DL member with an external email address create an auto-reply loop which generated 350 emails to a large membership.

I need to find a way to prevent this type of incident preferabley without banning all auto-reponses or OOF messages.

I am not aware of any specific builted-in solution for this but you should be able to use:

Envelope Sender Rate Limit;

Content Filter/Message Filters

To help mitigate the issue.
