Cisco Registered Envelope Service Users:

On November 3, 2018 beginning at 00:00 PDT (GMT-7), Cisco will be upgrading the Cisco Registered Service (CRES) from the current version of 5.3.4 to a version of 5.3.5.  Release notes for the new version can be found at  https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/security/email-encryption/products-release-notes-list.html

Details of the upcoming maintenance are provided below:
Start: November 3, 2018 at 00:00 PDT (GMT-7)
End:  November 3, 2018 at 04:00 PDT (GMT-7)

This process is expected to take about four (4) hours to complete.  During this time, there will be an interruption to the service.  Symptoms of interruption during the upgrade are listed, but not limited to below:

- Messages being encrypted by Email Security Appliances (ESA) will not be encrypted and may bounce back to the sender with a message that the server is unreachable or the appliance is misconfigured.
- Messages that have been sent can not be opened.
- The CRES Web Interface will not be available to manage messages or administer any accounts.

Please note that the following improvements will be added to CRES with this release:

- CSCvk40809 : CRES: Excess of temporary files built up, result in the service to refuse connection.
- CSCvh95077 : Emails sent from res.cisco.com are originated via localhost.
- CSCvm57463 : [Websafe] Description to be reworded for "Existing Password" field under Edit Profile.
- CSCvi68458 : [Enhancement] Allow Account Admin the option to enable/disable footer for the account.
- CSCvi70105 : [Enhancement] Link to CRES support page to be added in footer.
- CSCvf54205 : ENH: Give users an ability to delete their own accounts on 'Edit Profile' tab in websafe.

If you have tried to access the CRES Web Interface and you were greeted with our "Maintenance banner", please know that we are working to get this completed as quickly as possible to restore service with the new version.  If you are not able to access the CRES Web Interface outside of the window listed above, please feel free to reach out to Cisco via your normal support method for CRES.

Regards,

Cisco
