Hello all, New sysadmin here who recently inherited email and security. We use O365 email and have three on-prem virtual IronPort appliances that are clustered and one Security Content Management appliance. Our uses are pretty standard - spam, malware quantine, TLS enforcement with specific domains, secured email communications, and DLP. I'm new to the world of Ironports, and I'd like to look into possibly moving to a managed cloud service. For people that are using it, is it simpler to administer than on-prem IronPorts? Thanks!

It all dependends.
For me the cloud service would simplify the tasks of :
-upgrade management of ESA/SMA software Releases
-capacity mamnagement of ESA, Cisco would add virtual devices if needed
-DR testing, Cisco takes care of DR recovery.
-Hardware lifecyle management - Cisco would take care of this.
Going forward I believe we will see software updates and new releases to the Cisco cloud stack first before it becomes available for ONPREM devices. The other administration tasks are the same for you.
I hope that helps
Marc
