Sharing Permanent Hardware License to Virtual Cisco ESA - Warning

Hi,

I am sharing a permanent hardware license of cisco ESA to Virtual ESA but I got this warning:

"There are existing VLNs associated with your ID. Please be aware that if you choose to generate a new VLN, the existing features will not be rolled up and you will only receive the currently added features. Do you still want to continue with generation of a new VLN?"

Is it safe to proceed? I tried to do the "showlicense" on the virtual ESA but there is no VLN? Also, on the dropdown menu of existing VLN, there is no VLN found. What will happen to the existing VLN is I proceed to create new?

Thanls

If this is a new virtual appliance, leaving the serial number field blank should let you generate a new VLN.

If you run into issues I would recommend opening a TAC case with Cisco Licensing to get a VLN generated through them.
