SMA "Add Email Security Appliance" problem

Hello,

I am trying to add an Email security appliance to SMA but I have a timeout error.

I can ssh to both ESA and SMA but when I telnet using CLI (from ESA to SMA and from SMA to ESA) I do not get the prompt to insert username and I get the following message after press enter:

Connected to 192.168.200.67.
Escape character is '^]'.
SSH-2.0-OpenSSH_7.3 FreeBSD-20170902

Protocol mismatch.
Connection closed by foreign host.

 

Does anyone knows how to fix this?

SMA is in version 12.5.0-678

ESA is in version 13.5.1-277

Hello Joao,

 

I would recommend to take a look at the SMA Compatibility Matrix, SMA version 12.5 is not compatible with ESA version 13.5. 

 

When appliances are compatible, you can proceed to add the ESA to SMA, for more information please refer to the following user guides:

Centralizing Services on a Security Management Appliance

SMA Setup, Installation, and Basic Configuration

 

The telnet output is successful so you should not have connectivity issues. Protocol mismatch is due to the failure of the handshaking (telnet protocol vs ssh protocol).
