Hi everyone !
I seem to be having trouble upgradring from 6.5.3-007 to 6.5.3-014...
I did it all correctly, disconnected from the cluster, stoppped the listeners and deliveries, and then launched the upgrade from the Command Line.
I'm stuck at this point :
Upgrades available.
1. AsyncOS 6.5.3 build 014 upgrade For Email, 2009-12-14
[1]> 1
Performing an upgrade may require a reboot of the system after the upgrade is ap
done. Do you wish to proceed with the upgrade? [Y]>
Removing stale lock file
IronPort Email Security Appliance(tm) Upgrade
Finding partitions... done.
Setting next boot partition to current partition as a precaution... done.
Erasing new boot partition... done.
Installing application...
Nothing seems to happen...
A reboot obviously solves it and brings me back to build 007 ... but I'm wondering why this upgrade seems to be failing ??
Any clue ?
By the way, I couldn't find any definitive release notes for this build... Maybe I should just avoid it and wait for Async OS 7 ?
Cheers !

Hi Fred,
I just upgraded one of our boxes (same versions you mention) there and experienced no trouble at all.
IronPort Email Security Appliance(tm) Upgrade
Finding partitions... done.
Setting next boot partition to current partition as a precaution... done.
Erasing new boot partition... done.
Installing application... done.
Installing CASE... done.
Installing Sophos Anti-Virus... done.
Reinstalling AsyncOS... done.
.
.
...so on, so forth
I don't get the 'removing stale lock file' message though at the begining of the process though.
I'd be inclined to log a support ticket at this stage.

Hi Ronan,
Thanks for the feedback.
I tried a third time to install the upgrade... and it failed again (stuck again at the same stage), so I guess I will be logging a support incident tommorrow.
Will let the community know of the outcome
Cheers

I upgraded 2 C350's to 014 last night with no issues.

Thanks to the quick and efficient support of Ironport, my 2 appliances have been upgraded this morning.
The upgrade process was running into a time-out at a certain moment.
The support engineer disabled unneeded system processes and the upgrade went fine
I suggest that people running into the same kind of issue open a support ticket
Have a nice day!

Is there a need for upgrading to this version. Otherwise I suggest to wait untill version 7 is released (feb 2010)

Dear all,
Just to keep you posted on this issue. I have been experiencing the same problem when trying to upgrade to v7 so I did some testing...
I had a proxy server defined for all updates... which we thought might be causing the problem.
And indeed it was ! proxy removed and voilà !! Upgrades are working again !
Happy upgrading !
