The power supply for the dual-mode IE2000

Hi, Is it necessary to connect the two DC inputs of a Cisco IE2000 to the same power supply? The DC-A and DC-B inputs are both connected to separate internal power supplies, regardless of the fact that this is not fully redundant. Due to this, I believe the same external power supply could be connected to both DC-A and DC-B... Thank you very much for your response. The power supply is split into two separate units. Single-source or dual-source power can be used to power the switch. It is the higher voltage power source that draws power from both power sources when both are operational. During a power outage, the switch remains powered by the other power source. Connect each power supply to an independent source of power in systems configured with redundant power. You might experience total power failure if you fail to do this due to a fault in the external wiring or a trip in the circuit breaker.

IE2000 will operate with only 1 input DC source.   2 DC input sources are provided to provide backup power. the only advantage to attaching both input A and B to same power source is if you feel the DC connection (eg: the wire) would fail.   if the DC wiring is done correctly and secured to both power source and IE2000 then there's no point in having both inputs connect to same power source,
