We're running our instance of RequestCenter on VMWare without issue.  We've had this set up now for about a year and a half.  We didn't need to set up anything out of the ordinary to get this to work.

We are on a very old version of RC (v2004.2) so, keep that in mind.  There may be some other technologies in use in the later versions that may prevent the use of VMWare.

we are running 2008.0.1 on virtual servers

newScale updated it's Support Statement Regarding Virtualization on June 30, 2009. That statement is available on the Technical Publications web site, and is also attached here for your convenience.

Also, here is an excerpt from the newScale 2008.3 Release Notes:

VMware Support
newScale FrontOffice Suite 2008.3 offers full VMware support for vCenter 2.5.0 build 84767 and later. In fact, newScale plans to release FrontOffice Suite 2008.3 as a VMware appliance soon

Ed,

In the excerpt from Release Notes, can you clarify on "...Suite 2008.3 as a VMware appliance..."  ? Does that phrase 'VMware appliance' refer to upcoming newScale release of FrontOffice 2008.3 with Virtual Data Center Solution ?

Thanks!

Mihir

Hi Mihir,

You are correct. VMware appliance refers to a new Workgroup Edition of 2008.3 which will be announced next week.
