Approving a request outside of Service Manager / Request using external code?

Is there anyway to approve a request using an external peice of code, therefore the user not having to go into Service Manager/Request Authorization to approve?

The way ServiceLink (and RC) works, you have to design your work plan so that the approval task is either external (via ServiceLink) or internal (via ServiceMgr). An alternative is to use RAPI/Web Services to do the external authorization on a more adhoc basis. Web Services became available as of release 2008.2, and there's a User Guide available.

Definately.  ServiceLink will allow you to create an adapter to send and receive approval tasks between a 3rd party and RequestCenter.

We haven't had the requirement to do this, so I'm not able to give you an example, but the documentation on ServiceLink should give you a step in the right direction.
