Can someone clarify/explain this... according the CUCM 7 release notes, Attendent console is not supported with new installations, it is supported only with upgrades.
If this is correct, what is the reason behind it and what are the available options for customers who want to use Attendant Console with new installs?
From CUCM 7 Release notes
"Cisco Unified Communications Manager Attendant Console Plug-in
If you upgraded Cisco Unified Communications Manager to release 7.0(1), you can download the Cisco Unified Communications Manager Attendant Console plug-in. Cisco does not support the Cisco Unified Communications Manager Attendant Console with new installations of Cisco Unified Communications Manager 7.0(1), and the plug-in does not display in the Find and List Plugins window in Cisco Unified Communications Manager Administration.
If you reinstall Cisco Unified Communications Manager 7.0 on a server after an upgrade to 7.0, the Cisco Unified Communications Manager Attendant Console plug-in does not display in Cisco Unified Communications Manager Administration on that server after you install 7.0.
Cisco recommends that you download the Cisco Unified Communications Manager Attendant Console plug-in from the first node in the cluster. Cisco recommends that you save the plug-in to a location on a PC that you will remember in case you cannot access Cisco Unified Communications Manager Administration."

Found the answer further in the document.
Cisco Unified Communications Manager Attendant Console Support in 7.0
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Note The "Cisco Unified Communications Manager Attendant Console" chapter in the Cisco Unified Communications Manager Features and Services Guide/online help erroneously states that Cisco Unified Communications Manager 7.0(1) does not support Cisco Unified Communications Manager Attendant Console with installations of Cisco Unified Communications Manager 7.0(1). In fact, Cisco does support Cisco Unified Communications Manager Attendant Console with Cisco Unified Communications Manager 7.0(1).

Cisco are dropping the current AC. Although it may work with future releases if you download the plugin, it will no longer supported.
They are releasing a new enterprise dedicated console, and there is also the choice of the Arc version.

just to add something, that might be a temporary solution until the new ACs are released. after that the model of only if upgrading will be implemented again.
