I am a Systems Engineer for a small rural hospital, which uses Cisco 7945 IP Phones. We have a couple of employees who have left and have been replaced. My issue is with the user names that display on the phones when they make calls. The usernames displayed are those of the former employees who no longer work here.
I am getting requests to update these phone settings to reflect the names of the new employees, but don't have any idea of how to do that. I've googled this, and there is just so much info out there, I'm not really sure which info to use. Is there a relatively simple, straight forward way to go about making these name changes? If so, could someone please point me in the right direction?
Thanks very much,
Stephen

Jitender,
I don't understand how you get to the screen that you show in your reply to my question. I pressed the "Settings" button on the front of the phone and looked at every single item for all of the settings items displayed, and don't see anything remotely near to what you show me in your reply.

Hi,
You would have to do the same on CUCM, which is the call agent, you can no change those settings from phone. Let me know if you are using CME in your environment.

If you are using CME you will have to modify the configuration there. see below example
router#conf t
router(config)#ephone-dn 1 dual-line
router(config-ephone-dn)#name newname

Do you know if the phones are registered to CUCM or CME?? or maybe other 3rd party option??
Do you know the IP/hostname of it??
and most importantly, do you have the credential to access it??
You can only change what you want, if you have the answer to those 3 questions.
This is not something you will change directly on the phone.
