Cisco 8821 Issue

Esteban Rocha

I'm having an issue with this model connecting to my wireless AP.
I have configure the correct network settings under WLAN settings
however I see no attempt to connect to the AP. Is the radio disabled on this
phone by default?

Please help.
I'm not sure what to do next.

Thank you in advance!

If you configure the WLAN settings, for both AP and the phone, to be OPEN authentication does the phone connect or not?

With open Authentication it does connect and register to call manager.

The AP I'm using is a Cisco 1131. I've had other Cisco mobile phones connect to the same AP.
However, this 8821 model only has PSK mode and a few others that we don't use.
I'm not sure what it could be. I know we also use TKIP.

If Open Authentication works, then the problem is not the phone nor the wireless network.  The problem could either be settings and, if you're entering the PSK by hand (and not by the cable), then the PSK could be entered incorrectly.

Can you explain to me what you mean by the cable option?

There is a method to configure the phone using a web interface by plugging the phone to the USB charging cable and to a PC.

Another method is to let the phone get a valid IP address and use the HTTP/HTTPS to configure the phone to the correct Network Profile and settings.

We have Cisco 7925 model phones that connect to the same AP I'm using.

However, on the security mode, the 7925 have Auto (AKM) that we use, but the
8821 does not have that option.
