I just deployed a new CUCM version 10.5 however the client has a VM tool that notifies him when any partition goes below 5 GB. After installing a Pub and a Sub he started getting notified that the rood disk for both servers had a capacity of 14300 and only 2036 free. The OVA we used is supposed to give 80 GB of disk space. My question is did the ova setup a second partition with the remaining disk space that is used to store the configuration and other ongoing data?
Thanks,
Cameron

Hi Cameron,
Are you checking the size on the VM itself (on the VMWare client) or on the Server ?

This report is being generated by VMware itself. When I go onto the server OS Admin pages and look under hardware it shows 80GB

If you go to the datastore on the server, what does it show??

Hi,
as soon as you enter the Pub or Sub via SSH, you will receive some important info, like the number and size of the disk (in the example bellow: 1 disk of 80 GB):
Command Line Interface is starting up, please wait ... Welcome to the Platform Command Line Interface VMware Installation: 1 vCPU: Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5640 @ 2.67GHz Disk 1: 80GB, Partitions aligned 4096 Mbytes RAM
Use the show status command for more info and check the disk info, like these:
Host Name : <Hostname> Date : Wed Jun 24, 2015 18:27:31 Time Zone : <Time Zone> Locale : en_US.UTF-8 Product Ver : 10.5.2.11900-3 Unified OS Version : 6.0.0.0-2 Uptime: 18:27:33 up 40 days, 58 min, 1 user, load average: 0.36, 0.27, 0.20 CPU Idle: 95.96% System: 02.02% User: 02.02% IOWAIT: 00.00% IRQ: 00.00% Soft: 00.00% Memory Total: 3925868K Free: 123416K Used: 3802452K Cached: 767232K Shared: 0K Buffers: 93792K Total Free Used Disk/active 14643056K 1824472K 12669820K (88%) Disk/inactive 14643120K 2907676K 11586680K (80%) Disk/logging 50179664K 11167156K 36422332K (77%)
Hope this helps.

Hey Marcelo,
Thanks for the update this is good information to have. It doesn't seem to match what my VM guy is seeing on the VMWare side though. This is what we see in VMWare
Our SSH info looks similar to what you posted for me.
At the end of the day I think we are fine however he is concerned that the 2 gigs left under root is quite small. In the Show Status output we don't even see the same partitions.

Hi,
you can also take a look at the 'Disk Usage' in the RTMT > Server > Disk Usage (you can download the RTMT in CUCM Administration > Application > Plugins).
Take a look in the following:
Hope this helps.
