Hi Guys
I have a issue with a E1 R2. The calls from and to PSTN using the E1 R2 and not negotiate the codec G711,only use the codec g729.
I´ve change the class code using G711a and G711u only, but the call get a congestion. I have a E1 PRI in the same GW and the calls using G711, no problem.
This is the configuration:
controller E1 0/0/0
framing NO-CRC4
pri-group timeslots 1-31
controller E1 0/0/1
framing NO-CRC4
ds0-group 0 timeslots 1-15,17-31 type r2-digital r2-compelled
voice class codec 1
codec preference 1 g711ulaw
codec preference 2 g711alaw
codec preference 3 g729r8
dial-peer voice 8600 voip
destination-pattern 86..
session target ipv4:SUB1
voice-class codec 1
voice-class h323 1
dtmf-relay h245-alphanumeric
no vad
dial-peer voice 8601 voip
preference 2
destination-pattern 86..
session target ipv4:SUB1
voice-class codec 1
voice-class h323 1

no vad
dial-peer voice 100 pots
destination-pattern 9T

Christian,
On the CUCM admin pages.
Check the region that your gateway is in supports G711.
Also check the location for bandwidth, is there enough BW set to
allow G711 ,
Roughly
24K per G729 call
80K per G711 call.

Alex.

Thank you Alex, but the GW are in the same region that the IP Phones (G722-G711) and when the call use the E1 PRI negotiate using the class codec configured in the GW.
There are a command necessary for to do fixed to use G711 the E1 R2?
TIA
Cristian

Christian,
Can you look at the gateway config page on your CUCM.
Have you enable FastStart for inbound and outbound ?
That may be stopping the negotiation as you select a codec to use.
Try disabling FastStart if it is set

Alex.
