I am trying to setup a link between my CUCM and another office via internet.
I want to protect our network using a 2801 as a border Gateway
As a proof of concept I have the 2801 (C2801-IPVOICEK9-M), Version 15.0(1)M5) as the Gateway connected to via 10.X.X.X (for IP Cloud) address to a 2851 (2800NM-SPSERVICESK9-M), Version 12.4(24)T3) running CME 7.1.
I have set up as a H323 Gateway and can make calls to CUCM from CME, but busy (afer timeout) when I try to call back.
I thought of trying Gatekeeper but all the images appear to require 256K RAM (only have spares with 191K) so I have no hardware to run one.
I was going to try SIP Trunks but all the config example I can find are for SIP to Provider, not a private link.
Any help appreciated

Hi,
Can you post the show run from both gateways.
CUCM- H323 --ROUTER--- H323 ---CME
This should work.
Can you also check the CSS of the CUCM gateway to make sure that incoming calls can reach the phones
partitions

Hi,
Can you change the CUCM gateway to be :-
172.19.16.150 as this is the CME address
Dont worry about the stats showing as UNKNOWN that is correct for H323 Gateway as they
are peer to peer
Reset the CUCM gateway.
Can you add this dial peer to the CME
!
dial-peer voice 100 voip
description *** FOR INCOMING CALL MATCHING ***
destination-pattern 1...
codec g711ulaw
session target ipv4:172.19.16.150
incoming called-number .
dtmf-relay h245-alphanumeric
ip qos dscp cs3 signaling
no vad
!
Try retesting.

Thanks I will try in the morning,
When I pointed the CUCM Gateway at 172.19.16.150, it was not shiwing registration as Unknown but the IP Address although I was not using DNS and had entered it manually

unfortunately that did not work, still cannot ring from CUCM
I am concerned that the IP Address is unknown on the H323 gateway, I know that the registration will always appear as unknown.
The CME is not directly on the network (via 10.100.100.x range) but can be pinged
Any advice

Hi,
H323 gateways ALWAYS show as UNKNOWN on CUCM.
This is because the protocol is peer to peer and therefore does not register.
Can you test a call using the DNA on CUCM
Can you expand the resulting trace to see exaclty what digits get sent to the CME
