Hi all,
I will upgrade the firmware for all my ipphone using PPID since all of the phones are on remote sites connected via service provider links that range from 512kbts to 2Mbts, one question that is have is if for same reason the power fails during the firmware upgrade what happens to the phones. Do they recover and start the upgrade or the phones will be dead.
Phones model 7911G/7961G with firmware 8.3.3.SR2S
Thanks

If power is lost or the phone is reset during upgrade, all stored credentials are removed. After power is restored, the devices will recover by using the normal recovery sequence. This can include requesting a new IP address, downloading a configuration file, applying any new configuration parameters, downloading new firmware or locales, and registering with the Call Control.

Hi
If the Power is lost, the Phone Firmware upgrade process will get stopped. But once the power is restored, your IP Phone will try to reboot with the firmware files pre-loaded in your phone if it is existing and go live, received dial tone or else it will try to fetch the new configuration files from the call manager which is connected to your IP Phone and it will get registered with the new phone sccp/sip firmware files, this process will take some time to receive dial tone. If you take any maintenance window for few min, this will make job easy.
Try creating new configuration file in "telephony-service" part while you are loading your new ip phone firmware file, so that your new phone firmware file configuration is present and then try for reset / reboot
if you still face any problem during the loading process.
Thanks.
