IP phone reboot

Hello, can someone confirm for me.

When rebooting 7942 or 8851 Cisco IP phones powered by PoE switch.

The computer connected to the handset doesn't lose network connectivity?

The obvious answer the computer loses network connectivity. Because the phone acts like a switch.

If the PC loses network connectivity due the phone rebooting this in my mind is a bigger over site then I ever expected.

Thank you in advance

Mike

When a phone reboots, the computer loses connection because the PC port of the phone doesn't have a "bypass" functionality.
