Hi,

We have following setup --

1) one 2851 MGCP gateway with 2 T1 CCS PRIs

2) CUCM 10.5

I want whenever PRI goes into unregistered state on CUCM or hung state, a alert will be generated either on RTMT or router and will be sent via email.

Is such kind of alerting is possible, please suggest  how??

Regards,

Mohit

Hi Mohit,

If you open RTMT, Alert Central and then go to Voice/Video tab, you should see an alert for MgcpDChannelOutOfService.

If your alerts are enabled, you should receive an email alert similar to:

MGCP DChannel is out-of-service
D-Channel-Out-Of-Service status in gateway device(s): S0/SU0/DS1-0

To set the alerts, go to System, Tools, Alerts, Config Email Server, under here configure your email server settings.

Hi James,

The alert is already configured but its not working, how to more sure it works

Basically what happened is one of our PRIs got reset and we recieve "501 endpoint not available" message on CUCM for the B channels of PRI. Due to this CUCM marked PRI as down with error "no channel in service" and un-registered the PRI. So what i am looking for a way to setup alerts for B channels state so that if this happened again we get the alert.

Please suggest.

Thanks,

Mohit

Hi Mohit,

To confirm that RTMT is sending alerts correctly, if you try and log into your CCM Admin page with the wrong credentials you should receive an alert similar too:

TimeStamp : 11/5/15 12:07 PM
LoginFrom : 10.96.30.44
Interface : Cisco CallManager Administration
UserID : Used to log into CUCM
AppID : Cisco Tomcat
ClusterID :
NodeID : CUCM Node Name
TimeStamp : Thu Nov 05 12:07:11 GMT 2015

This alert should be emailed to you, and show up in RTMT. If you do not get the email alert, then you would need to look at:

To set the alerts, go to System, Tools, Alerts, Config Email Server, under here configure your email server settings.

You may need to speak to the exchange server team and make sure they are allowing your CUCM servers to communicate with the Mail servers.

Hi James,

We are getting emails for alerts , problem is we didn't get the emal for MGCPDChannel out of service alert. Ideally in our incident when CUCM un-registered the PRI it should trigger the alert but i don't know why that didn't happend.

Anu suggestion or idea how can we monitor it more effectively ?

Thanks,

Mohit
