Question about CME SRST

I'm preparing to configure CME SRST on a 2811 CM 4.2 MGCP gateway with 4 FXO lines. The documentation on configuring SRST is very simple, especially if you are not looking to preconfigure ephones onto the system.

My question is; in the documentation and in the example configurations I have read I have not seen examples of dial-peers that have to be added to support CME SRST. When you configure SRST on a CM 4.2 mgcp gateway you add a pots dial-peer to handle and outbound calls. In the examples I have seen, there have only been the mgcp dial peers that CM installs during configuration. Can someone help me understand why this is?

Cisco Survivable Remote Site Telephony (SRST) offers a smaller set of call handling capabilities than Cisco CallManager. Much of the configuration for the SRST feature involves enabling existing Cisco CallManager or IP phone settings.
