UC520 config

Hi all. I hope all is well. I have a UC520 that I am going to install and this is the first one of these I have done. Ive done CME and CUCM before, but not a UC520. I pulled out the guide that came with the system and it basically tells me to use the "cisco configuration assistant", which I have downloaded. Ive taken a look at it, but I wanted to get your opinion on it. It seems quirky to me, and my first thought is "go back to cli". You guys have any thoughts on using the config assistant? Much appreciated.

Hi John,

The CCA is for beginners who do not know how to use the CME CLI. If you're familiar with the CLI, I would just use this.

The UC520 is just a normal IOS box that has some special marketing attached due to it's small business use. Nearly everything can be configured on it, minus some routing protocols and other removed features.

I generally find it faster to use the CLI so that I don't have to do guesswork on what CCA is configuring.

hth,

nick

Thanks Nick. I tossed the config assistant. Much better now.
