I currently have a production v7.1.3 HA environment that I'm preparing to upgrade to 8.5.
I wanted to run v8.5 under VMWare (with what has been an unlicensed 10 user version with prior releases), but I'm having an issue with having the option to select a UConn versus a CUCM installation. In prior versions, v7.1.3 in particular, you were prompted for which product to install. With the v8.5 media, 8.5.1.10000-26, I see no such prompt and it loads CUCM.
I got the media via PUT, the packaging says Cisco Unity Connection Application Software Disc Set, the installation disc number is 80-9842-02 and the title on the disc says CUCM 8.5 - BE /SME/ Unity Connection.
Can I install a test Unity Conn 8.5 from this media?
Thanks.

The same media and file from CCO is used for CUCM, CUC and CUCMBE.
Whether you get 1, 2 or 3 options of products to install depends on the HW validation.
If you're not getting the CUC option is because the HW validation is not detecting your HW to be CUC compliant.
Look at the OVA specs in virtualization wiki and make sure you meet the requirements for CUC. Or use the OVA file available there.

That was it.
For a small Unity Conn System, v8.5, I allocated 1 CPU, 2GB RAM, and a 160GB disk. The information in the OVA files for Unity Conn can be found at http://docwiki.cisco.com/wiki/Main_Page
I did nothing with system affinity, FYI.
